Basic Elementary Acupuncture
Discover the concepts underlying the basic anatomy of acupoints, neurophysiology, neuropharmacology, and recent research findings on acupuncture meridians, philosophy of the traditional Chinese medical system and modern research on acupuncture. Discussions will provide a brief history of acupuncture, traditional Chinese etiology and pathologenisis, organ systems and medical diagnosis; TCM philosophies, theories, laws; anatomy of acupuncture meridian systems; vital energy theory. Qi energy, meridian acupuncture point location will be demonstrated and practiced. Presentation will consist of approximately 60% lecture and 40% clinical work, including at home reading and take home examination.
