Fundamental Acupuncture
Develop practical skills in various Chinese therapies and traditional Chinese medical diagnosis. Discussions and practice will include indications, contra-indications, complications, and precautions of acupuncture, the differentiation of syndrome complex; tongue, pulse, Ryodoraku and Acu-o-matic diagnosis; ancillary techniques (acupressure, moxabustion, cupping, venopuncture), various needling techniques (including plum blossom and press needles), stimulation, electro acupuncture and balancing therapies (TMJ adjustment and Acu-o-matic balancing). Presentation will consist of approximately 40% lecture and 60% clinical work, including at home reading and take home examination. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Level 1 course and examinations.
