This half day workshop will develop the skills of organizing and extracting clinical data for clinical care and learning.
Course Objectives
- To describe the standards and principles that are required to ensure data quality
- To demonstrate how data is obtained from your electronic medical record solution (EMR)
Target Audience
Family Physicians, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) Specialists, other healthcare practitioners, individuals in clinics who set policy or practices for EMR use, and those using the EMR for searches and reporting in practices using one of the three electronic medical record (EMR) solutions of Alberta's qualified service providers (MD Physician Services, Med Access, Wolf Medical Systems)
Prerequisites
Registrants currently must be using one of the three qualified service providers' EMRs for patient data entry
Registrants are encouraged to bring their own laptops with access to their EMR data for the workshop sessions

This program meets the accreditation criteria of The College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been accredited for up to 3 MAINPRO-M1 credits. RCPSC Specialists can claim participation as an independent study project.
